The time came to say farewell to a truly valued member of our team. After 25 years of dedication, hard work, and countless contributions, Tony is stepping into a well-deserved retirement. Tony has been more than just a colleague, he has been a mentor and a friend and you will be greatly missed by everyone at Electroparts. We had a breakfast brunch and had a beautiful cake brought in by the very talented Ashten and Mason Bread quarters of Holmfirth.
Well worth a visit if you are visiting Last of the summer wine country!
Words from Tony to all his work colleagues…
‘Today I retire…
Two thousand from whence, now retiring….
I retire having enjoyed near a quarter of a century at Electroparts.
When reflecting on the luck of being taken on, I can only say then there have been so many happy times and that there could not have been a better place to have worked. Varying work from intense but tiny crafting both crimp and PCB to the most complex cable module and loom. By necessity I have learnt many skills; cheerfully imparted by one and all at Electroparts.
But the truth is the job played to my personal interests for untangling the thread and being keen in the observing. Never unwelcome to be paid to do things you wish to do.
Now I am older and my knowledge has been well employed good bye and many thanks to all here.’
A little poem from me to you….
Imagine crackle picture blue spark
Burnt out wires and all splayed
No quality no calm imagine customer dismayed
Then see quality tools, trusting, nudge fools
With hope and good measures your hopes will return
And I cared but blundered, missed this but lost that
Very glum followed rules tried to learn
Flippin’ flip take action and then start out new
Untied knots sorted thing
I always did like untying knots this is true
So lucky door 2000 or before
Best thanks Carol and Dom when you were so patient
Thank you Paul and Mohammed you stood by me truly
Thanks Sharon and Julian seeing the job done
Made the last two years so easy and fun
Thanks one and all Shield and Sword
To end now will make sense
Never get too cheesy and that’s my last word.
Thank you, Tony, for all you’ve done. We hope your retirement is filled with joy, health, and endless opportunities!
