Our Production Control Manager
I couldn’t quite believe it when my LinkedIn kindly notified me that it was my 1 year anniversary at Electroparts! I have always been very passionate about work, you spend such a large amount of time there, so you have to be 100% happy and engaged day after day!
As Production Control Manager, I spend the majority of my day looking at ways to improve the business, how to drive productivity even further, to improve lead times, drive growth to attract new business – that’s my objective at Electroparts in a nutshell. I’m a problem solver, analysis and getting to the root cause of everything is something I am highly passionate about. Also an excel Geek, so nothing quite beats creating a new spreadsheet to analyse data with graphs and formula’s to find solutions.
My Experience, team & culture
The Electronics industry is something I have never been involved with prior to the last year. My previous experience of 10 years at a Plastics manufacturing business, where I worked within Operations Management for the last 5 years of that role. So I was excited to get my teeth into something new and exciting, within a different industry and a fresh new challenge.
The team around me are great, friendly and we all strive in the same direction to improve the business. It’s great when everyone is singing from the same hymn sheet, it creates a great culture to work within. I have two team leaders that oversee the production and support teams and are a big asset! Then there’s the office team, an abundance of women, and then me and Dom!
I always strive to create a positive working culture, a happy place to work in and a professional environment. So a big challenge of course is recruitment, identifying staff that we can see potential in, with a route to become part of one of our skilled teams is what the team leaders are tasked with, getting them to hit their targets quickly and constantly, using motivational and 5S methods. The work is highly skilled and very intricate but with realistic targets and a support team around them, that deliver training and techniques and direction…..our production team are in good hands!
Out of work interests
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my partner, her daughter & my tribe of 4 kids. Watching Huddersfield town lose with my dad is also eventful. You can’t beat a good entertaining film, a nice long weekend walk, going to the theatre and travelling the world. I have a bucket list to get through & a map to cross off.
