Behind The Scenes On The Lead Maker

Our 2 machines measure cut and strip a large range of wire sizes automatically. A wire is fed in on a reel and is produced to the programmed length, offering high speed & reliable solutions for wire cutting. Automated crimp processing equipment supports higher volumes than either hand tools or bench top crimping.

Our lead-maker centres Castugnon C551S & C551SZ allows us to create leads of lengths varying from 44mm to 100M with a combination of processing operations such as cut, strip, crimp or tin.

Universal applicator compatible meaning there is next to no limit in the variation of crimps that can be processed.

Integrated crimp force monitoring for precise and repeatable crimping operations enables us to ensure the quality produced by the lead-maker centres is in full accordance with IPC/WHMA-A-620 requirements.

In electrical manufacturing, a lead maker is a specialized machine or tool designed to automate the production and preparation of electrical leads, such as wire cutting, stripping, crimping, or soldering. The use of a lead maker offers several significant benefits, including:

Automation: Lead makers streamline processes like cutting, stripping, and attaching terminals, reducing manual labor.

Speed: Machines work faster than manual operations, significantly increasing production output.

Accuracy: Lead makers ensure precise measurements for wire lengths, stripping dimensions, and crimps, meeting stringent specifications.

Labor Costs: Automation reduces the need for skilled manual labor, lowering operational costs.

Flexibility: Modern lead makers can be programmed to handle a wide range of wire types, lengths, and terminal connections, catering to specific manufacturing needs.
