Position: Maintenance and Operations Team Leader
Company: Electroparts
Duration: One Year
In my role at Electroparts, I have had the privilege of leading a dedicated maintenance and operations team. The unwavering support from my colleagues and management has been instrumental in creating a collaborative environment conducive to growth and innovation.
Before joining Electroparts, I spent three years as a team leader in a warehouse specialising in engineering components. In that capacity, I conducted regular team meetings to communicate priorities and assess performance while meticulously overseeing warehouse operations to ensure targets were consistently met. My experience in managing employee relations, combined with strong leadership skills, significantly enhanced operational efficiency and team motivation. Transitioning to the electronics industry has been a rewarding challenge, and I have leveraged my transferable skills to excel in this dynamic role.
At Electroparts, my primary focus has been on optimising various departments, including:
- Goods In/Stores: Streamlined processes to improve inventory management and reduce turnaround times.
- Cable Cutting: Enhanced efficiency through improved workflow management and optimal equipment utilisation.
- Machine Setting: Implemented best practices to maximise output and minimise setup times on stripper crimpers.
- Leadmaker: Refined production processes to elevate both efficiency and product quality.
- Engineering Operations: Collaborated closely with engineers to optimise workflows and boost productivity.
- Test/Inspection: Strengthened quality control measures to ensure the highest standards and reliability in our products.
- Dispatch: Optimised logistics to enhance delivery times and customer satisfaction.
I prioritise meeting deadlines and ensuring that production starts on time by effectively managing job prioritisation in stores, ensuring that kits are assembled promptly, and conducting thorough cutting and setting checks before production begins.
Additionally, I have focused on training new temporary staff in basic crimping skills, interpreting technical drawings, and conducting post-production quality checks to ensure that all outputs meet our rigorous standards.
The team I am currently managing is exceptional, united in our shared goals and dedicated to continuous improvement. It truly feels like I have found the right job, surrounded by the right people, and I am excited about the future opportunities that lie ahead for both the team and the company.
